Successful public companies recognize that in order to continue to bring value to shareholders, they must set the curve.
Location: Seattle, WA

In today’s economy, that means not just outperforming your competition but finding a new, uncharted path to success through innovation; and the best way to develop groundbreaking ideas is to engage top talent.
This HNI ONE project for a leading technology company had one high level goal—to design an exceptional user experience to support attraction and retention of today’s top minds.
Why They Changed
The tech company wanted to build a space that would inform future projects in the Americas on their newly developed workplace applications. Designed as a re-imagination of their existing kit-of-parts, the project served as a test space to evaluate flexibility and efficiencies. Not only were they looking to initiate a movement by providing more choice and autonomy to users, but also wanted to maximize their real estate in the competitive Seattle market.
What Mattered Most
With the help of longtime trusted partners, this was an opportunity to co-develop applications to promote evolving user needs. Due to an unprecedented rate of growth, urgency, accuracy, and aggressive scheduling were required from all teams. The Interior Architects team’s planning method was invoked to bring efficiencies in construction costs, user density, and improved room ratios, including entirely new settings. The HNI ONE team was tasked with designing and manufacturing new products and agile applications that could support the new, scalable way of stacking space. The client knew that an increase in user mobility in the space would be required for success, such as more small meeting spaces, and individual phone rooms.
“Collaboration with our partners is essential to realizing solutions for our client’s needs. HNI ONE’s ability and willingness to respond with customized applications allows us to quickly achieve the best-tailored solution.”

Benefits
By re-imagining the established kit-of-parts with innovative design, HNI ONE was able to help the tech company team and its partners test many new furniture concepts without adding cost to their budget. But in the end, it was the excited buzz and new energy the space afforded its users that brought the most positive feedback. Executive leaders have even posted photos, videos and commentary on social media to share their enthusiasm for their new workplace. Providing the flexibility to work in several newly designed applications, from solo spaces to thoughtful huddle areas, the organization is poised to share the refined user experience of this project as they recruit future talent to join the organization.
